New York, NY (November 7, 2012) – Producer Norton Herrick has joined Peter Berg’s “Lone Survivor.” Based on the best-selling book “Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10” written by Marcus Luttrell, the film adaptation is being directed by Peter Berg, who also wrote the screenplay. (“Battleship,” “Friday Night Lights”). Norton Herrick joins Peter Berg & Mark Wahlberg as producers, along with Sarah Aubrey, Randall Emmett and Steven Levinson on the project.  Other producer credits include Akiva Goldsman & Barry Spikings.

Academy Award® and Golden Globe nominated actor Mark Wahlberg (“Ted,” “The Fighter,”) stars alongside Eric Bana (“Hulk”), Ben Foster (3:10 To Yuma”), Emile Hirsch (“Into The Wild”) and Taylor Kitsch (NBC’s “Friday Night Lights”). “Lone Survivor” is currently filming in New Mexico.

“Marcus Luttrel’s story is an important reminder of heroism, bravery and sacrifice. Though ‘Lone Survivor’ is a harrowing story, it is important to shed light on the heroism and personal histories and lives that were not lost in vain,” commented producer Norton Herrick.

“Lone Survivor” is Norton Herrick’s second film with Mark Wahlberg. He produced “2 Guns” starring Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg. Other producer credits include “Very Good Girls,” written and directed by Naomi Foner, with Ellen Barkin, Richard Dreyfuss, Dakota Fanning, Clark Gregg, Boyd Holbrook, Demi Moore, Elizabeth Olsen, Peter Sarsgaard and Kiernan Shipka, and “Nightlight,” a supernatural thriller written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. “2 Guns,” “Very Good Girls” and “Nightlight” are all currently in post-production.
